Alexandria, Minn.-based Inspired Spine acquired Titan Brain and Spine Institute, also based in Alexandria, Minn.
Here are six key points:
1. TBSI is now an Inspired Spine Center and serves as a training center for Inspired Spine's advanced minimally invasive procedures.
2. Sunny Kim, MD and Hamid Abbasi, MD, will make the transition to practice at the newly developed Inspired Spine Center. The two will lead training efforts in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery.
3. Dr. Abbasi is a leader in the oblique lateral lumber interbody fusion technique, one of the techniques he will demonstrate at the training center.
4. Inspired Spine is also expanding out of its immediate network to the Twin Cities Metropolitan area, planning to open an ambulatory surgery center and another Inspired Spine Center in the future.
5. Inspired Spine Centers offer diagnostic testing, non-surgical therapies and unique minimally invasive outpatient techniques, along with traditional treatments for chronic neck and back pain.
6. Titan Brain and Spine Institutes specialize in minimally invasive spine surgery, minimally invasive SI joint fusion, injections and physical therapy. The group has two other locations in Minnesota.
