Providence, R.I.-based University Orthopedics secured commercial financing for its new surgery center in East Providence, R.I.
Here are three insights:
1. Washington Trust provided the financing and has a history of supporting practices and physicians. This is the first project within its East Providence redevelopment effort.
2. University Orthopedics' 90,000-square-foot surgery center features an ambulatory surgery center, diagnostic imaging as well as physical therapy and rehabilitation facilities.
3. University Orthopedics is the head of Brown Alpert Medical School's orthopedics department. The group directs clinical research to develop surgical techniques, surgical implants and preventative measures.
