Philadelphia-based Rothman Institute opened a new office in Tarrytown, N.Y.
"Rothman's expansion from a regional orthopedic practice to a national one will rely on our integration into major metropolitan suburbs, like Westchester County," said Alexander Vaccaro, MD, PhD, president of Rothman Institute and the Richard H. Rothman Professor, chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics and professor of neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University and Hospitals in Philadelphia. "We have always believed in bringing care to the communities where the patients are, and this office is a perfect example of that model."
Here are five things to know:
1. While Rothman Institute has been partnering with healthcare providers in New York for months, the Tarrytown location is its first office in New York. The practice location will include a wide range of orthopedic subspecialty care.
2. Six Rothman Institute physicians will provide care at the Tarrytown location, including Chief of Orthopaedics, Rothman Orthopaedic Institute-New York Anthony Romeo, MD. Additional surgeons at the location include Joseph Kim Lee, MD, Meghan Bishop, MD, Brandon Erickson, MD, Justin Tsai, MD, and Dan Seigerman, MD.
"The northern suburbs of New York City are a key market for us to expand our practice locations," said Dr. Romeo. "We look forward to bringing the best musculoskeletal care to the people in Tarrytown and the surrounding communities of Westchester County."
3. In addition to providing sports medicine and shoulder care, subspecialties at the location will include spine, foot, ankle, hand and wrist care.
4. Rothman Institute now has more than 34 locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, including orthopedic urgent care.
5. In April 2017, Rothman Institute entered into a strategic affiliation with New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health to develop orthopedic centers of excellence locations in Manhattan, N.Y., Westchester, N.Y., and Greenwich Village, N.Y.
