Orlando (Fla.) Health unveiled its fetal spina bifida surgery program, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
Here are three things to know:
1. Orlando Health's Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies features the first fetal surgery program in Florida.
2. Board-certified pediatric neurosurgeon Samer Elbabaa, MD, performed the first three fetal spina bifida surgeries at Winnie Palmer Hospital.
3. Prior to joining Orlando Health in 2017, Dr. Elbabaa performed upwards of 60 fetal spina bifida surgeries.
