Mayfield Brain & Spine, St. Elizabeth Healthcare partner to expand neurosurgical care

Mayfield Brain & Spine entered into a partnership with St. Elizabeth Healthcare to provide complex interventional stroke and brain tumor services, the Northern Kentucky Tribune reports.

What you should know:

1. Cincinnati-based Mayfield Brain surgeons will now offer advanced stroke treatment at Edgewood, Ky.-based St. Elizabeth.

2. Mayfield Brain neurosurgeon Andrew Ringer, MD, will lead St. Elizabeth's interventional stroke program.

On the opportunity, he said: "We look forward to working collaboratively with the entire stroke team at St. Elizabeth to expand and improve this service. By adding interventional stroke care to St. Elizabeth Edgewood, we can save more lives and reduce the incidence of debilitating stroke symptoms."

3. Mayfield Brain hired Craig Kilburg, MD, to support Dr. Ringer's efforts.

4. In addition to providing care, the partnership will enhance diagnostic efforts around primary and metastatic brain tumors.
