New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery opened five orthopedic urgent care centers to provide care to patients with injuries needing prompt medical attention.
What you should know:
1. HSS opened two locations in New York City and new locations in Long Island, N.Y., Stamford, Conn., and Paramus, N.J.
2. The urgent care facilities have several COVID-19-related precautions in place. To be seen, patients must first call for an appointment during which they'll complete a COVID-19 screening and an initial injury assessment. Upon arrival, patients will undergo an additional screening and have their temperature taken.
3. HSS is staffing the clinics with its orthopedic surgeons.
