Georgia hospital's $152M expansion featuring orthopedic floor remains on course despite pandemic

Tift Regional Medical Center's $152 million expansion that will add an orthopedic floor remains on course for completion in fall 2021 as construction workers continue to work through the COVID-19 pandemic, WALB reports.

Three things to know:

1. The orthopedic floor is part of a planned four-story tower that will span 263,000 square feet at the Tifton, Ga., hospital.

2. The project will add a new ICU unit and expand the ER capacity from 50,000 square feet to 80,000 square feet.

3. Tift Regional's orthopedic department features two spine surgeons and four orthopedic surgeons, according to its website.
