Orlando Health to break ground on $295M orthopedic hospital in November

Orlando (Fla.) Health expects to break ground on a 350,000-square-foot orthopedic hospital and medical pavilion in November, the Orlando Business Journal reports.

What you should know:

1. The Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Hospital will have 75 beds and feature an outpatient surgery center and medical pavilion.

2. The health system aimed to break ground on the development in the spring of 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the groundbreaking.

3. The hospital will have 10 operating rooms, and the outpatient surgery center will add an additional 12 ORs.

4. The hospital won't open until the summer of 2023, but the medical pavilion and surgery center could open in late 2022.
