University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center placed the final beam on its $43.8 million outpatient care office building Dec. 3.
Developers expect the building will open in late 2021. The five-story, 101,000-square-foot building will house orthopedic, diabetes, endocrinology and vascular care. The building will feature a pharmacy, wellness center, an employee learning center and a simulation lab for workforce development.
The entire project consists of the outpatient building, a walkway to connect the building to the main hospital and an expanded employee parking lot.
Karen Olscamp, UM BWMC president and CEO, said in a release, "It will allow our patients more convenient access to our services and provide our community a place where they can be educated by and participate in activities that keeps them healthy."
