Helena, Mont.-based St. Peter's Health plans to recruit more surgeons and extend its surgical specialties after it completed a $9 million renovation of its operating room, Independent Record reported Dec. 27.
The six-room suite will increase surgical capacity, reduce waiting times and decrease complications, Kerry Hale, MD, orthopedic surgeon and medical director of perioperative services, told the news outlet.
Da Vinci XI robots have also been installed in the operating rooms. St. Peter's Health established its robotic surgery program in 2019 and has completed more than 200 robotic procedures.
The operating room team performs up to 20 surgeries a day, including joint replacement and trauma procedures, according to the report.
