The Sports and Orthopedic Center at Idaho State University in Pocatello is organizing a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for priority groups in the community, beginning Feb. 18, the Idaho State Journal reports.
The clinic is a collaboration between ISU, Southeastern Idaho Public Health and Portneuf Medical Center.
Vaccine providers from ISU will include student nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants and dental hygiene students. Southeastern Idaho Public Health will provide nurses, clinical staff, vaccine and supplies, while Portneuf Medical Center has offered use of its facility on the university campus.
Southeast Idaho has about 27,000 residents aged 65 or older who have been prioritized for the next phase of vaccinations, according to the report. Vaccination of those in the current stage — healthcare and emergency workers, educators and residents of nursing facilities — will continue.
The clinic has the capacity to administer about 600 doses of the vaccine per day.
