Construction is on track for Reno (Nev.) Orthopedic Clinic's $60 million expansion of its downtown facility, Northern Nevada Business Weekly reports.
The 30-physician group began the project in 2019, taking advantage of the region's population growth — Reno is growing at a rate of 2 percent annually and reached its highest population of 266,511 this year.
The expansion is adding 76,000 square feet to the 57,000-square-foot downtown clinic, where Reno Orthopedic Clinic has been operating for 60 years, according to the report.
A surgery center, advanced imaging center, postoperative recovery suites, an urgent care facility and physician offices are being added. The project will bring all of the practice's specialties under one roof.
Reno Orthopedic Clinic sees about 214,000 patients a year and recently increased its workforce to 480 employees.
"We expect that to bump another 20 percent in the next few years, because of the continual expansion of services," CEO Lisa Mead told the publication.
The expansion is expected to be completed in September.
