5 spine practices to know

A new spine center in Minnesota and four more practice centers to know:

Brain and Spine Surgeons of New York (White Plains). Brain and Spine Surgeons of New York was founded in 1958. The practice added seven physicians and its first neurologist in March.

Mayfield Spine Surgery Center (Cincinnati). The Mayfield Spine Surgery Center offers outpatient minimally invasive spine surgery and pain management services. The practice, founded in 2007, has three operating rooms and one pain procedure suite.

SpineNevada (Reno). SpineNevada has seven physicians and emphasizes nonsurgical approaches to treatment. The practice recently struck a deal with Phoenix-based Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company to develop a musculoskeletal platform in the state.

St. Luke's Spine Center (Duluth, Minn.). St. Luke's Spine Center opened March 11, and its services include spinal fusion, minimally invasive surgery and pain management. The center accepts patients through provider referrals.

Texas Back Institute (Plano). The Texas Back Institute was founded in 1977 and is one of the largest free-standing multidisciplinary academic spine centers in the world. About 88 percent of patients are treated without surgical intervention.
