Seven Charlotte, N.C.-based medical practices are now requiring COVID-19 vaccines for their staff, including OrthoCarolina and Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates, according to The Charlotte Observer.
Employees will be required to be vaccinated by Oct. 31. The practices said they will comply with labor guidelines related to vaccine exemptions.
Other independent medical groups in the area that announced mandates include: Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and Throat Associates, Charlotte Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Carolina Asthma & Allergy Center, Surgical Specialists of Charlotte and Tryon Medical Partners.
The news follows July announcements from Charlotte-based Atrium Health and Novant Health, which both said they will be requiring vaccinations for employees. Becker's Hospital Review has compiled a list of more than 95 hospitals and health systems that have announced mandates.
