Four surgeons joined Watsonville, Calif.-based Coastal Health Partners, and two of them are spine and orthopedic specialists, TPG Online Daily reported Aug. 23.
Faisal Mirza, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in total joint replacements, shoulder surgery and sports medicine. Kris Okumu, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgery and robot-assisted total joint replacements.
Their hires bring robot-assisted total joint surgery to Watsonville Community Hospital, reportedly the only one in the region to offer the service.
The other surgeons hired are general surgeons Sarah Brant, MD, and Ryan Nolan, MD.
