U.S. Orthopaedic Partners has completed the acquisition of Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center, the company, in Birmingham, Ala.
The management services organization provides specialized insights, resources, training and access to technologies for affiliate practices in the Southeast.
Andrews Sports Medicine comprises 21 physicians and six facilities in Central Alabama. The partnership allows the practice "to maintain clinical autonomy and brand identity, without sacrificing financial strength or stability," according to Graham Young, vice president of merger and acquisitions for U.S. Orthopaedic Partners.
"The physicians and surgeons at Andrews will benefit greatly from the support, fellowship alignment, research opportunities and value-based care delivery and quality outcomes that USOP is able to provide," said Lyle Cain, MD, managing partner at Andrews Sports Medicine. "With our mutual focus on clinical research programs to improve musculoskeletal care, we look forward to partnering alongside other like-minded physicians to build something special across the region."
U.S. Orthopaedic Partners was formed in October 2020 after FFL Partners invested in Mississippi Sports Medicine in Jackson. Since then, it has acquired six practices that operate 22 locations across Mississippi and Alabama.
