Bon Secours St. Francis Health System opened the $8 million Diane Collins Neuroscience Institute, a centralized neurological care center in Greenville, S.C., the weekend of June 4-5.
The center will house five physicians and provide a speech pathologist, neuro-trained physical therapist and other services neurology patients can use for augmented, multifaceted treatment.
"We were able to create a one-stop shop to centralize neurological care, making a destination place for patients seeking comprehensive treatment for conditions affecting the brain, spine and peripheral nervous system," Wayne Fraleigh, Bon Secours Medical Group COO, said in a June 6 press release. "Our team of highly skilled health care experts now have spaces created specifically with these patients in mind so they can offer treatment in an environment that promotes healing."
Other features of the center are a CT scanner and MRI, a gym, an infusion center and a daily-life simulator for patients recovering from a stroke.
