David Mayman, MD, is the co-director of New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery Computer Assisted Surgery Center as well as an assistant attending orthopedic surgeon. In addition, Dr. Mayman is an associate professor in orthopedic surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College.
Dr. Mayman is considered an expert in computer navigation in hip and knee replacement surgery and performs hundreds of computer-navigated joint replacements each year. He believes better tools will be used in all future joint replacements and says computer guides give more consistent alignment.
Dr. Mayman received his medical degree from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction at Hospital for Special Surgery as well as an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at Harvard University/Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
