J. Stewart Haskin Jr., MD, stepped down as president of Coastal Orthopedics in Conway, S.C., and was succeeded by Ross Taylor, MD.
Here are five things to know about the transition:
1. Dr. Haskin was the president for 30 years and stepped down on April 1.
2. Dr. Taylor is a foot and ankle specialist who joined the practice as a partner in 2000.
3. Hip, knee and joint replacement specialist Peter Ramsey, MD, became the vice president and secretary.
4. The practice has been run under the executive board's guidance since 1983 and focuses on providing high quality care in a compassionate, patient-friendly environment.
5. Dr. Taylor also serves as chief of staff at Conway Medical Center, where Dr. Ramsey is the medical director for the joint replacement program.
"After 30 years as president, I look forward to this transition and am confident the new leadership is dedicated to continuing our efforts to provide the best musculoskeletal care possible, while maintaining a healthy, profitable business, where we all can be proud to be a part of this dedicated team of professionals," said Dr. Haskin.
