Heather Gladwell, MD, an orthopedic surgeon, was asked to consult in a product development for implants.
Here are 10 things to know:
1. Dr. Gladwell was invited to partake in the consultation of a new product.
2. Dr. Gladwell has worked at Henry Country Orthopedics for the last 12 years.
3. Dr. Gladwell will be assisting with the development of an implant that will correct hammer toes.
4. The other implant that Dr. Gladwell will work on developing is to correct foot fusions.
5. Glen Coleman, president of CrossRoads Extremity Systems, asked Dr. Gladwell to consult on new products that he was developing three years ago.
6. With the help of Dr. Gladwell, many of the products have made real improvements with her working on the products in a cadaver lab.
7. Dr. Gladwell has tested the products that she has worked to develop in her own orthopedic practice.
8. In addition to Dr. Gladwell, her father, Eugene Gulish, MD, uses some of the implants at Henry County Orthopedic.
9. The materials in the products and the tools that were used to implant the implants were all recyclable.
10. Because the company is a green company, the goal is to use as little waste as possible by using minimal packaging.
