Mark Pallis, DO, performed the first reverse shoulder replacement with a lifetime guarantee at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre (Pa.), according to a Nov. 19 news release.
The reverse shoulder replacement used intraoperative navigation technology and preplannings based on a 3D model, Dr. Pallis said in the release.
Geisinger and devicemaker Medacta previously partnered on lifetime guarantee programs for hip and knee replacement and spinal fusion as part of the health system's ProvenCare program. The program covers inpatient and follow-up care for patients, including for complications, for up to 90 days after surgery.
