Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Saechin Kim of Massachusetts General Hospital

Saechin Kim, MD, PhD, is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon with Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care in Danvers, Mass. Dr. Kim also serves as a clinical instructor of orthopedic surgery at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Kim specializes in pediatric hip surgery, pediatric sports medicine and pediatric and adult spinal reconstruction. His other clinical interests include molecular mechanisms of osteogenesis and hip morphology and function. Dr. Kim's research focuses on improving surgical techniques to correct scoliosis and the molecular processes involved in an animal model of avascular necrosis of the femoral epiphyses.

 

Dr. Kim received his medical and doctorate degree from Harvard Medical School in 1994. After completing his residency at Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program, Dr. Kim completed an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He also completed the M. Muller North American Orthopaedic Fellowship in Switzerland and at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
