AAOS board approves new AUC: 3 quick points

Orthopedic

The AAOS board of directors approved new appropriate use criteria for pediatric for pediatric supracondylar humerus fractures with vascular injuries, according to AAOS Now.

Here are three quick notes:

1. The AAOS approved a CPG on the treatment of supracondylar pediatric fractures in 2011, followed with the release of an AUC in 2014.

2. Some of who developed the AUC were concerned about patients with vascular injuries, and developed an AUC directly for treatment of those patients.

3. A web-based application for all AUC may be accessed here.
