Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Dennis William Burke of Massachusetts General Hospital

Dennis William Burke, MD, is an orthopedic surgery practicing at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Burke is one of seven physicians at Massachusetts General Hospital who specialize in orthopedic surgery and has been practicing medicine for 37 years. He is also a clinical instructor in orthopedic surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Dr. Burke specializes in treating conditions including ataxia, ACL or PCL tears, chronic neck pain, femur fracture and fracture of the hand among various other conditions. In June 2015, Dr. Burke repaired Secretary of State John Kerry's broken femur.

 

Dr. Burke earned his medicine degree from Stritch School of Medicine, affiliated with Loyola University of Chicago. He went on to complete a general surgery residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. After finishing his general surgery residency, Dr. Burke went on to complete an orthopedic surgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital.
