A delegation of chief surgeons from China will visit New York to observe Leon E. Popovitz, MD, perform orthopedic surgery.
Here are five things to know:
1. Dr. Popovitz is the co-founder and chief orthopedic surgeon of New York Bone & Joint Specialists.
2. He has completed a fellowship in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York.
3. The Chinese surgeons will watch Dr. Popovitz perform arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee.
4. Additionally, Dr. Popovitz's colleague, Rupesh Tarwala, MD, will provide a lecture on robotic computer technology for hip joint replacement.
5. The Chinese surgeons' goal is to learn how to improve the orthopedic surgery for patients in China.
