Here are 11 orthopedic surgeons making the news this week.

Hanover, Pa.-based Martin Foot and Ankle welcomed Jennifer Mulhern, DPM, to its physician staff. Dr. Mulhern is an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

 

Luga Podesta, MD, a sports medicine specialist, joined St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, N.Y. Dr. Podesta has been practicing medicine for 24 years and is interested in the non-surgical treatment of orthopedic, musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries for the shoulder, elbow, knee and spine.

 

The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery granted certification to Christian N. Anderson, MD, Alison L. Cabrera, MD, and W. Chase Corn, MD. All three physicians practice at Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance in Nashville.

 

Michal Taylor, MD, joined Banner Health Clinic in Gilbert, Ariz. Dr. Taylor focuses on sports medicine and arthroscopic and reconstructive procedures for the knee and shoulder.

 

Ohio-based Adena Health System added Matthew Luckett, MD, to its medical staff. Dr. Luckett is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and International Congress of Joint Reconstruction.

 

Tyler Paton Welch, MD, joined Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Portsmouth, N.H. Dr. Welch is interested in cartilage restoration and joint replacement as well as arthroscopic surgery of the hip, knee, shoulder and elbow.

 

Johnstown, Pa.-based Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center welcomed Jacob Budny, MD. Dr. Budny will provide patients hip and knee surgery with a focus on minimally invasive techniques.

 

At the 2015 Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand Meeting in Milan, Italy, Tyson Cobb, MD, presented a new minimally invasive arthritis technique.  

 

Brian Cole, MD, is the director of the 17th Annual AAOS/AOSSM meeting.
