The Arthritis Foundation honored orthopedic surgeon Christopher A. Jarrett, MD, with the 2015 Hugh C. McLeod Award of Excellence for his work with arthritis awareness and treatment.
Here are five key notes on Dr. Jarrett:
1. Dr. Jarrett is an orthopedic surgeon at OrthoAtlanta with a special interest in adult reconstruction, complex joint replacement and treating hip, knee and shoulder conditions.
2. The Hugh C. McLeod Award of Excellence was established by the Arthritis Foundation in 2012 to honor the legacy and philosophies of Hugh C. McLeod, III, MD, to hallmark his passion for medicine, selflessness in caring for others and personal struggle with arthritis. As the 2015 award recipient, Dr. Jarrett is the fourth physician to be honored with this award since its inception.
3. Originally from Sierra Leone in West Africa, Dr. Jarrett was raised in Mississippi and earned his medical degree at the University of Mississippi.
4. His additional training includes a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile and a fellowship in adult reconstruction at Lenox Hospital in New York City.
5. OrthoAtlanta includes 13 offices with 35 physicians and more than 50 additional healthcare providers. The practice has two surgical centers and five pain management clinics.
