Herbert W. Percival, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, Calif., passed away on April 24, according to the Ventura County Star.
Here are three things to know:
1. Dr. Percival died at the age of 67 from complications from pancreatic cancer.
2. Dr. Percival worked in combat hospitals in both Gulf wars and retired as a colonel.
3. Dr. Percival earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago and completed his residency at the University of Southern California - LAC+USC Medical Center in Los Angeles.
