HSS honors Dr. Chitranjan Ranawat with Lifetime Achievement Award: 5 notes

Hospital for Special Surgery in New York named Chitranjan Ranawat, MD, winner of its Lifetime Achievement Award.

Here are five notes:

 

1. Dr. Ranawat has been practicing at HSS for the last 50 years.

 

2. He specializes in hip and knee replacements, and he helped develop the first total knee replacement prosthesis at HSS in the early 1970s.

 

3. He has authored 346 scientific peer-reviewed publications, 11 editorials, 19 book chapters and three books.

 

4. In 2011, the president of India, Pratibha Patil, granted Dr. Ranawat The Padma Bhushan award.


 
5. He has completed fellowships in hand surgery and rheumatology-orthopedic reconstructive surgery at HSS.
