John P. Lyden, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon practicing with New York City-based Weill Cornell Medicine. He is also an attending orthopedic surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery and a professor of clinical orthopedic surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, both located in New York City.
Dr. Lyden has previously served as director of the fracture service at the former New York Hospital, now known as NewYork Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. He also served in the First Medical Battallion, First Marine Division Da Nang in South Vietnam.
Dr. Lyden's clinical interests include fractures, joint replacements and arthroscopy. He has won a number of awards over his career, including the Philip D. Wilson, Jr. Teaching Award, Outstanding Teacher award from the Hospital for Special Surgery.
Dr. Lyden earned his medical degree at the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York City. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency and hand surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery.
