Arnold K. Cohn, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon practicing at Chicago-based Illinois Bone & Joint Institute. He also serves as a clinical associate professor of orthopedics at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Ill., and director of orthopedic operations, Northshore Highland Park (Ill.) Hospital.
Dr. Cohn focuses on hip and knee joint replacement surgery as well as minimally invasive surgery for sports-related injuries. He also performs hand surgery and fracture care procedures. He has an interest in orthopedic instrumentation and was awarded a patent for a pediatric restraint system he developed while completing his internship. He has also received a patent for an apparatus that attaches suture to bone.
Dr. Cohn has an active interest in research, and his work has appeared in The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, American Journal of Sports Medicine and Orthopedics. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery selected one of his research articles for its "Orthopaedic Knowledge Update" series.
Dr. Cohn completed his medical degree at Chicago Medical School and his orthopedic surgery residency at Loyola University Affiliated Hospitals in Maywood.
