Shawn G. Anthony, MD, MBA joins the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai — 5 things to know

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, in New York City, has welcomed Shawn G. Anthony, MD, MBA as an Assistant Professor of Sports Medicine in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Specializing in shoulder, elbow, knee and hip conditions, Dr. Anthony has expertise in advanced cartilage restoration procedures, biologics, knee ligament reconstruction, shoulder instability, rotator cuff tears, and hip arthroscopy.

 

2. He owns both international and U.S. patents for various orthopedic technologies and has authored numerous scientific and clinical articles and book chapters.

 

3. He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and his business degree from Harvard Business School in Boston.

 

4. Following medical school, Dr. Anthony completed his orthopedic residency at Harvard and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

 

5. He completed his sports medicine and shoulder surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
