John M. Itamura, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, a practice based in Los Angeles. His clinical interests include the treatment of elbow, shoulder and sports-related conditions.
He serves as the program director for the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic's shoulder and elbow surgery fellowship and as a clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, also in Los Angeles. Dr. Itamura is a team physician and consultant for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and has also treated players on local university athletic teams. He holds memberships with American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, California Orthopaedic Association and American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.
Dr. Itamura earned his medical degree at University of Southern California, where he also performed his residency training. He went on to complete a shoulder and elbow surgery fellowship at Dallas-based WB Carrell Memorial Clinic and a hand and upper extremity fellowship at Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital.
