Brian J. Cole, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, a Chicago-based practice with five locations in the Midwest. His clinical interests include cartilage restoration and sports medicine.
He serves as chairman of surgery at Illinois-based Rush Oak Park Hospital and as section head of the cartilage research and restoration center at Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center, where he is also a professor in the department of orthopedics. He serves as the head of the Master's program in orthopedics at Rush, where he trains residents and fellows in sports medicine and research. He is a physician for Chicago athletic teams, including the Chicago Bulls and White Sox.
Dr. Cole earned his medical degree at University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He went on to complete an orthopedic residency at New York-based Hospital for Special Surgery-Cornell Medical Center and a sports medicine fellowship at University of Pittsburgh.
