Dr. Paul Markey retires after 39 years & more: 6 orthopedic surgeons in the headlines this week

Here are six orthopedic surgeons in the news this past week.

Paul Markey, MD, retired from Norwalk, Conn.-based Coastal Orthopaedics after a 39 year career.

 

Neema Pourtaheri, MD, is joining Santa Rosa (Calif.) Orthopedics.

 

Michael Goldberger, MD, a foot and ankle surgeons from Morristown, N.J.-based Tri-County Orthopedics provided shoes and medical care to some of New Jersey's homeless.

 

Wayne Colizza, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with Cedar Knolls, N.J.-based Tri-County Orthopedics, was named one of NJ Top Docs' Top Doctor 2016.

 

Russell LaFrance, MD, is joining the staff of River Hospital in Alexandria Bay, N.Y.

 

G. Daxton Steele, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Gulf Breeze, Fla.-based Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, finished second in the 150-pound weight class of the master's division at Rogue's 2016 CrossFit Liftoff.
