William I. Sterett, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Vail (Colo.)-Summit Orthopaedics, where he specializes in joint replacement, knee, shoulder and sports medicine.
Dr. Sterett has served as head team physician for the U.S. Women's Ski Team since 1997 and was previously managing partner at The Steadman Clinic in Vail. He performs ACL reconstruction, sports injuries to the knee and shoulder, joint preservation and orthopedic trauma treatment.
After obtaining his medical degree from the Sacramento-based UC Davis Medical Center, Dr. Sterett completed an orthopedic surgery residency at UC Davis Medical Center and two fellowships: the first in sports medicine knee and shoulder at Vail-based The Steadman-Hawkins Clinic and the second in Switzerland and Germany, where he specialized in AO Trauma and Joint Preservation.
