Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Freddie Fu of UPMC

Freddie Fu, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon and orthopedic surgery chair at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

At UPMC, Dr. Fu created the sports medicine fellowship program. He is the editor of 26 orthopedic textbooks and author of 76 book chapters. He has also contributed to more than 215 international peer-reviewed research publications.

 

Dr. Fu is a past president of the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society and is involved in 55 other professional and academic medical organizations. He previously served as co-chairman of the Pittsburgh Local Organization Committee.

 

Dr. Fu earned his medical degree, completed his residency and underwent fellowship training at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
