A. Bobby Chhabra, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Charlottesville, Va.-based University of Virginia Health System.
Dr. Chhabra serves as orthopedic surgery department chair and head of the hand and upper extremity surgery division at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He is also a Lillian T. Pratt Distinguished Professor, plastic surgery professor and the hand and upper extremity consultant for the university's athletic department.
In March, Dr. Chhabra and Jay James won first place in the sports feature category at the Virginias Associated Press Broadcasters awards for a weekly radio segment on sports injuries.
Dr. Chhabra is the recipient of numerous awards, including the David A. Harrison Teaching Award, the highest honor presented by the UVA School of Medicine.
After earning his medical degree from University of Virginia School of Medicine, Dr. Chhabra completed an internship and residency at University of Virginia. He also underwent fellowship training at the University of Virginia.
Dr. Chhabra went on to complete a fellowship at the Hand Center of San Antonio (Texas) and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas. He earned a certificate in leadership and management from the University of Virginia in 2014.
