Marc W. Hungerford, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Baltimore-based Mercy Medical Center.
Specializing in adult joint replacement, Dr. Hungerford serves as Mercy's orthopedics chief and joint replacement and reconstruction director. He played a pivotal role in launching Mercy's The Joint Journey program, which guides patients throughout the hip and knee replacement process for faster recovery.
Dr. Hungerford pioneered the use of MAKOplasty, a minimally invasive partial knee procedure powered by the RIO Robotic Arm Technology, in Maryland.
The recipient of numerous recognitions, Dr. Hungerford has been recognized as a Top Doctor by both Baltimore magazine and Castle Connolly Media.
His professional associations include the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and National Osteonecrosis Foundation.
Dr. Hungerford earned his medical degree at Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where he also completed an internship. He underwent residency training at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore.
