Rush surgeon promoted to full professor: 3 insights

Hip and knee replacement specialist Scott Sporer, MD, was promoted from associate professor to professor of orthopedic surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

Here are three things to know:

1. Dr. Sporer is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. He currently serves on the board of directors for the American Joint Replacement Registry and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

2. He has special interests in primary and revision arthroplasty surgery, including anterior and posterior approaches to hip replacement and minimally invasive techniques.

3. Dr. Sporer received his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City and underwent adult reconstruction fellowship training at RUMC before joining MOR in 2003. He served as an associate professor since 2012.
