David B. Weiss, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at the Charlottesville-based University of Virginia Health System.
Dr. Weiss, MD, has been the University of Virginia Health System's orthopedic trauma division director since June 2010. He is also an associate professor.
Dr. Weiss was previously Ann Arbor, Mich.-based St. Joseph Mercy Hospital's medical director for orthopedic trauma. He is licensed to practice in Virginia, Michigan and Washington.
From 1997 to 2000, Dr. Weiss served in the U.S. Air Force as a flight surgeon.
This year, Best Doctors Inc. named him to its Best Doctors in America list.
After earning his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., Dr. Weiss completed an internship at the Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan, where he also completed a residency. Dr. Weiss underwent fellowship training at Seattle-based Harborview Hospital.
