AAOS names Dr. Joseph Bosco III 1st vice president — 4 insights

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons appointed Joseph Bosco III, MD, first vice president at AAOS 2019, March 13-15 in Las Vegas.

Four insights about Dr. Bosco:

1. Dr. Bosco will serve in the position for one year, before he becomes president in 2020.

2. A professor and vice chair of orthopedics at New York City-based NYU Langone Health, he specializes in sports medicine, knee replacement, shoulder and elbow surgery.

3. Dr. Bosco has served in many positions with AAOS, including serving as the board of directors member-at-large since 2013.

4. On the appointment, he said, "I am honored and privileged to be the first vice president of AAOS. I look forward to supporting our new president, Kristy Weber, MD, as the Academy launches its new five-year strategic plan to lead musculoskeletal health and enable us to better serve our members in all stages of their medical careers — and their patients."
