Here are five orthopedic-focused acquisitions announced in July:
Pendleton, Ore.-based Praxis Medical Group will acquire Desert Orthopedics of Bend, Ore. Desert Orthopedics has a team of 14 orthopedic surgeons and three locations in Oregon.
Merrick, N.Y.-based Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group acquired Long Island Bone and Joint. Long Island Bone and Joint is an independent practice with offices in Riverhead, Port Jefferson and Southampton, all in New York. The practice is focused on orthopedic surgery, computer-assisted knee reconstruction, sports medicine and spine surgery.
Cora Physical Therapy acquired Rockford, Ill.-based Orthopedic and Sports Therapy Institute, expanding its portfolio by six practices. OSTI was founded in 1999. It operates six physical therapy practices Rockford, Belvidere, Marengo, Ogle County, Poplar Grove and Sauk Valley, all in Illinois.
Killeen, Texas-based Integrated Pain Associates acquired Abilene-based Texas Sport & Spine on July 8. Dan Munton, MD, sold Texas Sport & Spine to "shift the focus of his practice" and turned over the care of his patients to IPA.
Private equity firm Kohlberg & Co. invested in Greenwich, Conn.-based Orthopaedic Neurosurgery Specialists, a three-location multispecialty group.
