Raymond White, MD, of Portland-based Maine Medical Partners won the Community Surgeon Achievement Award from the American Fracture Association and Orthopaedic Trauma Association. He became the third surgeon to receive the award at the OTA's annual meeting in Denver in September.
Robert Anderson, MD, performed an arthroscopic surgery on Cleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez. Dr. Anderson is an orthopedic surgeon, sports medicine physician and foot and ankle specialist at Bellin Health Titletown Sports Medicine and Orthopedics in Green Bay, Wis.
Orthopedic surgeons Patrick Barousse, MD, and Vince Lands, MD, joined North Oaks Orthopaedic Specialty Center in Hammond, La. Dr. Barousse completed a foot and ankle fellowship at the University of California at Davis and Dr. Lands is fellowship-trained in orthopedic trauma through Cooper University Hospital in Camden, N.J.
Jason Folk, MD, and Misty Suri, MD, performed arthroscopic surgery on the right knee of New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson. Dr. Folk is a team physician for the U.S. Alpine Ski Team and Dr. Suri is the Pelicans' head team physician and orthopedic surgeon.
Glenn Amundson, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Kansas City Spine and Sports Medicine Center, settled allegations that he sexually harassed and abused at least one female employee. The suit was settled out of court. The case against Dr. Amundson and the practice were dropped as a result of the settlement.
