Here are 12 orthopedic surgeons making the news this week:

Columbia-based University of Missouri Health Care's Mizzou BioJoint Center and James Stannard, MD, are facing at least 11 medical malpractice lawsuits from 17 former patients who allege the procedures they received at the facility failed. 

360 Orthopedics named Jeffrey Silverstein, MD, chief of surgery at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota (Fla.).

The American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics named Katherine Sage, DO, the recipient of its Emerging Leader Award.
