Bradenton, Fla.-based Blake Medical Center named Alan Valadie, MD, its 2020 Doctor of the Year for the second time.
What you should know:
1. Dr. Valadie is a joint replacement specialist and orthopedic surgeon at Bradenton-based Coastal Orthopedics.
2. He is the first physician to earn the award twice. He first won the award in 2013.
3. Blake Medical Center accepts nominations from patients, caregivers and physicians, reviews the nominations, and then analyzes the finalists.
4. Dr. Valadie joined Coastal Orthopedics in 1996, and later joined the medical staff at Blake Medical Center. He also serves on Blake Medical Center's board of trustees.
