Scott Slattery, MD, the most senior surgeon at Washington Orthopedic Center, announced his retirement in November, according to local news outlet Thurston Talk.
For more than 21 years, Dr. Slattery practiced with the group, which has locations in Centralia, Olympia and Elma, Wash.
He was the first surgeon at the practice to perform both outpatient total knee replacement and outpatient total shoulder replacement procedures, as well as the first to offer anterior approach total hip replacement.
Dr. Slattery's departure leaves Keith Brichard, MD, as the most senior surgeon at Washington Orthopedic Center.
Chris Hawkins, MD, is the most recent surgeon to join the practice, which now has five physicians and four physician assistants, according to its website.
