The University of New Mexico Health Sciences' Center of Excellence for Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation in Rio Rancho, N.M., will be complete by the beginning of 2022, local news affiliate KRQE reports.
Three things to know:
1. The $21 million center will combine clinical and research activities.
2. The 50,000-square-foot center will be adjacent to Sandoval Regional Medical Center, where most of UNM's joint replacement procedures are performed.
3. Sandoval Regional Medical Center plans to add five more total joint surgeons over the next five years, Jamie Silva-Steele, RN, the hospital's president and CEO, told KRWG.
