New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery's Innovation Institute partnered with VR Electronics to develop full-body technology to improve orthopedic diagnostics and treatment, according to a July 6 announcement.
VR Electronics is behind Teslasuit, a smart suit that integrates biometry, motion capture and haptic feedback. Hospital for Special Surgery plans to develop movement wear and a full body suit to improve motion assessment, performance training and rehabilitation through the collaboration.
"Partnering with HSS makes perfect sense to utilize Teslasuit’s technologies in innovative medicine, combining our advanced systems’ technologies and joint expertise," VR Electronics CEO Sergei Nossoff said. "Together we can significantly improve the quality of patient care. Our partnership with the Hospital for Special Surgery will extend our capability to be at the forefront of immersive technology, powering the future of medical healthcare solutions."
