Zimmer Biomet's WalkAI tool for postoperative recovery was launched, the devicemaker said March 10.
WalkAI uses an artificial intelligence model to identify patients who may have a lower gait speed 90 days after hip or knee surgery, according to a news release. It is the devicemaker's first AI-based software and integrates with the Mymobility care management platform.
An algorithm analyzes a patient's mobility to predict their walking speed after surgery. Patient data is compared to anonymized real-world data from the ZBEdge database.
